Part Vacation Stand atop a glacier, hike in Denali National Park, and catch a glimpse of the tallest mountain in North America, Mt. McKinley. Spend a day sailing in Prince William Sound visit the wildlife preserve near Anchorage and get to know the many “wild” residents who call Alaska their home.
Travelers will enjoy numerous activities, including horseback riding, river rafting, or shopping for Native Alaskan handicrafts in the largest open-air market in Anchorage. This new Christian travel opportunity allows participants to experience the many lakes, mountain ranges, and wildlife that make Alaska God’s country!
Part Christian Service The service element takes travelers into the Alaskan bush where they will live in a village and work alongside local men, women, and their families. Travelers will experience everyday life in the Alaskan wild, and spend time learning local traditions and customs. Itinerary for Alaska Christian Travel Option:
Day 1 Arrive in Anchorage and transfer to hotel
Day 2 Depart for the port of Whittier to board a cruise vessel at Prince William Sound to see glaciers and wildlife; enjoy lunch onboard the ship
Day 3 Transfer by motor coach to Talkeetna Lodge for a day exploring the Alaskan wilderness
Day 4 Choose from many optional tours into Denali National Park or the surrounding area
Day 5 Transfer in the morning back to the Anchorage airport for a bush flight into an Alaskan native village
Days 6-7 Service will be spent with the villagers learning about their way of life and participating in their daily activities
Day 8 Service in the village in the morning; and than in the afternoon fly by bush plane back to Anchorage.
Day 9 Transfer back to the airport
